My Power Mall - Scam or True
Opportunity?

About a month ago a friend sent me a link about this “great opportunity” and
having “been there and done that,” with business opportunities, I was
skeptical. However, I promised her I’d look at the site and see what I thought.

My Power Mall is a company that is only 8 months old but has over 60,000
members so far. People sign up for free for a shopping portal
website-everything is provided and there are absolutely no costs involved. All
you would have to do is register for a free shopping mall, receive it instantly,
and then give out the website address to friends, family or non-profit
supporters, who would hopefully give it out to everyone they know.

People simply go to the Power Mall website, find a store where they would
like to shop (there are over 1,000 choices), then, once they click on the store,
they are taken to the store’s website to shop as they normally would.

If others decide they’d like to have their own shopping mall, they can simply
click on the link provided and instantly receive their own mall. The original
mall owner still receives a rebate from any purchases made from their “down
line.”

In this sense, My Power Mall would probably be considered an MLM. To build
a business, you build a down line by giving away malls. However, what
makes it different is no one is collecting money for these malls. You don’t get
more rebates by having more people signed up- unless they shop, that is.
People are free to use the site for personal shopping, build a business or help
a non-profit.

Advantages I’ve found from belonging to My
Power Mall:

First of all, I’ve always dreamed of helping non-profits and My Power Mall
actively encourages people to use this to help others. It’s easy for a
non-profit to use-simply sign up for free and give the link out to supporters to
shop and put it on a website or any literature they have. The best part is, if
others sign up under the non-profit, they benefit even more. My Power Mall
also gives away a portion of the profits to charity.

Second, I’ve found hundreds of products I’d shop for anyway through My
Power Mall. I use vitamins from a company called Vitacost, which is on the list
of stores. I bought all of my Christmas presents this year though stores like
Sears, PetsMart, Target, KBtoys and Barnes and Noble.

All sign up is free and no personal information is needed. You can even sign
up your kids and create college funds for them too. All you need is a separate
email address for each account.

The company is soon going to debit cards and you can spend your earnings
as you would with any debit card.

There is a very helpful forum, at least for my particular group, who have many
tried and true approaches for building a business. There is also free training
and tools available on the Power Mall site to help you and helpful newsletters.

On Cyber Monday, Americans spent $733 million on Internet shopping. Those
who have a Power Mall could be earning a rebate from some of those
purchases.

Drawbacks to My Power Mall

If you’re looking for something where money will just fall into your lap, this
isn’t it. There is work involved in getting your link out there and telling people
what My Power Mall is all about. You can take out free ads, put it in your
signature on forums, etc but be prepared for people who are afraid this is just
another “scam.” You have to be persistent and not give up.

My Power Mall is still relatively new and not many people are familiar with it
yet. People tend to skeptical.

If you want to work with non-profits, you have to be prepared for lots of
rejection. Non-profits are stuck in the mode of holding auctions, selling candy
or magazines, etc. They haven’t yet realized how much easier it would be to
give out a link to a shopping site and site back and collect money.

One drawback I have personally with the business site, where people watch
the informational video is that it’s kind of “in your fact” and seems like a
“business opportunity”. Not sure if that turns some people off. I would
actually prefer a lower key approach, but that’s just me. Because of this, I’ve
developed my own letters and flyers, etc, that I’m more comfortable with.

Since I’ve only been involved in My Power Mall a short time, I can’t say over
the long term, how it will work out. However, I have signed up two non-profits
that I’m helping to promote and I have college fund sites for my kids and
nephew. I do my shopping there and receive rebates so whatever else
develops, to me, it’s nice to be the owner of a Power Mall.

If you would like to watch the informational video, you can find it in this link. If
you sign up through this link, you will be also helping the Lillian Smith Family
Violence Foundation which is dedicated to educating people to stop family
violence.
